College Radio

Well after being duely bummed about the weather report today, I started surfing the local sites.

After checking to see if there were any Chixdiggit updates, I thought I’d explore a bit and found myself in the CJSW website.

The Indie music scene has a fairly good following here in Calgary, thanks to constant efforts by many organizations. I’ve always appreciated the break from mainstream radio, although I will admit its been a while since I’ve tuned in.

Right now I’m listening to the “Dirty Needles” hour which seems to be a Hip Hop themed set tonight which was quite good.

They provide both an OGG and MP3 live stream, so check out the Program Guide and find a time to listen in. Winamp is my preffered player, but Windows Media Player will play the MP3 stream just fine.

Calgary Weather

Well, it was a beautiful day here in Calgary, once the fog lifted that is.

During the afternoon, the sun was shining brightly, and it truly felt like a spring day.

I got home rather late tonight, again, and thought I would check the upcoming weather report. After reading this little bit of weather news, I can honestly say that it really does feel like spring here in Calgary, as this is a perfectly normal report.

The Regina airport has a live webcam pointed at the runways, so if you feel a little bored, you can check out the excitement that is Saskatchewan Air traffic.

Read this article today, Basically a Company named ‘Fantasy Flight Games’ is going to release a board game of the popular online game from Blizzard, Starcraft.

Zerg goodness over a pint at your friends house, can it get any better than that?

Read the article I read here:

I was reading a Digg article today, and it links to a Google Movie clip.

This is just incredible.

Basically they light the tip of a match and place it inside of a microwave.

If you watch the video, it discusses what the theory of what is happening.

Very interesting, very cool.

Homer Simpson Mod

One of the things I often find myself doing is looking for things to do.

It usually ends up with a fallback night of gaming, or modding whatever I have near me to do something or other. We have blue LED’s in every remote control in the house for example, instead of the crappy red ones that come installed by default.

I found this Homer USB mod a while back, and I really have to give the guy credit. It sometimes takes the craziest idea to make the most awesome of mods.

To sum it up, he has taken a Homer Simpson Salt Shaker, and modded it to house a USB memory stick inside of it.

This is a pic of Dad and Trystin just a few hours after he was born.

This was Trystin about 2 hours after surgery. This was a hard picture to take but we wanted it more for Trystin than us so he can see where his scars came from.

This was taken just this week.
